MMX is the only iron ore mining company with integrated logistics listed onthe Novo Mercado segment of Brazil’s BM&FBovespa. Through long-term agreements with MRS., the concession-holder operating the Southeast Region of the Federal Rail Network, MMX is able to ensures the transport of iron ore produced in the SudesteSuperportto the Rio state coast. In Itaguaí (RJ), MMX is building its own port terminal, the Sudeste Superport. The venture will allow the company to move the entire production of the Serra Azul Unit, which will go from 8.7 million tons per year to 24 million tons/year, to the transoceanic shipping market.
 
The Sudeste Superport will enable the expansion of the Serra Azul Unit, allowing 100% of production to be exported. Logistics is one of the main components of the iron ore business and the Sudeste Superport is the key to MMX growth. Strategically located just 2 kilometers from the MRS railway, the Superport will have a direct connection to the operations of MMX in Minas Gerais.  MMX is the only company in the region of Serra Azul (MG) with fully integrated logistics, which further increases its competitiveness.
