Minera MMX de Chile is a subsidiary with a focus on developing new businesses connected to the mining area in this Andean country. Chile was chosen as MMX's investment area due to the recognized quality of the mineral resources found there and also due to the country's geography, which allows the development of logistics suitable for movement of products to Asian countries.

MMX's headquarters in Chile is strategically installed in the Atacama Desert, in the city of Copiapo, 800 kilometers north of Santiago. Located 90 km from the city of Copiapó in the North of Chile, MMX’s mining rights cover an area of approximately 1,600 hectares and are about 50 km from the Chilean coast, with access to naturally deep waters. Currently, the venture is at the stage of geological mapping.

The iron ore produced in Chile will be moved by ore pipeline, as far as Porto Castilla, an OMX port terminal, which will be 100% licensed and is due to be built atCopiapo, in the Atacama Region. The port will have two berths, one for handling of iron ore and another for handling coal for MPX, the energy company of the EBX Group. This is a port with a deep draught of 28 meters. This integrated system ensures efficient logistics for loading and exporting of iron ore to Asian countries.
